If you’re in Southeastern Pennsylvania in early April, don’t miss the annual Jazz Festival in Reading, PA. The 10-day musical extravaganza is one of the largest festivals of its kind, featuring more than 130 performances at different venues around Berks County.
About Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest

The first Berks Jazz Fest, which is presented every year by the Berks Arts Council, took place in 1991 over three days. As its popularity grew, the festival was extended to six days by 1996 and to 10 days in 2001. In 2017, 40,000 to 45,000 people attended the festival; more than half were from outside Berks County, and many travelled two hours or more to get here.
Each year, attendees enjoy some of the hottest entertainers and musicians in jazz, blues, world music, gospel and R&B, including many Grammy-winning artists.
The festival has hosted musical greats over the years, such as Count Basie Orchestra, Wynton Marsalis, Gerald Albright, Grover Washington, Jr., Earl Klugh, David Sanborn, Lalah Hathaway, Fred Hammond, Al Jarreau, George Benson, The Manhattan Transfer, Bela Fleck & The Original Flecktones, Dave Brubeck Quartet, Nancy Wilson, Chick Corea, Chris Botti, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Dianne Reeves, Boney James, Phoebe Snow, Gato Barbieri, and many others.

Smaller establishments throughout Berks County, such as sports bars, pubs, restaurants, museums, schools, churches and country clubs, also host luncheons, performances and related events.
