Berkshire Country Club – The 18-hole Berkshire Country Club is a private golf course that opened in 1903. Designed by Willie Park, Jr., the course measures 6,375 yards and offers five sets of tees for different skill levels. Hole #15 is the most challenging. In the 1940s, Berkshire Country Club was home to the Reading Open, which drew top professional golfers such as Jimmy Demaret, Ben Hogan and Sam Snead.
Chapel Hill Golf Course – Designed by Don Holloway, the 18-hole Chapel Hill Golf Course opened in 1991 and features 6,002 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. Although it’s known as a friendly course for most players, the many water hazards will cause you to place your shots carefully.
Flying Hills Golf Club – The 18-hole Flying Hills Golf Club is a public golf course on 105 acres that opened in 1971. The course measures 6,002 yards from the longest tees. It has a championship slope rating of 118, an overall course rating of 68.2, and is designed to accommodate golfers of every skill level. The signature 18th hole over-the-lake-shot is its greatest challenge.
Reading Country Club – Located in Exeter Township, Reading Country Club was designed in 1923 by Alex Findlay, the “Father of American Golf.” The 18-hole “Reading” course features 6,118 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. The top hole is #15, a par 3, with a spectacular view, a creek as a water obstacle, and an extremely difficult tee shot. Reading Country Club ranks among the most challenging public courses in the area with tight fairways and bunkers on every hole that come into play.
