Boyertown Area School District

The highly rated Boyertown Area School District the Boroughs of Bally, Bechtelsville and Boyertown and the townships of Colebrookdale, Douglass, Earl and Washington. In Montgomery County, it serves the townships of Douglass, New Hanover and Upper Frederick.

The district operates seven elementary schools, two junior high schools and one senior high school. It has received high scores for academics, numerous awards for excellence in music education, and is a leader in regional sports as well.

Governor Mifflin School District

The award-winning Governor Mifflin School District serves the Boroughs of Kenhorst, Mohnton, and Shillington and the townships of Brecknock and Cumru. It operates three elementary schools, one intermediate school, one middle school, and one senior high school.

The district’s notable graduates include an Olympic medalist, a brigadier general in the U.S. Marine Corps, a Pulitzer-prize-winning author, a nationally known television news anchor, and a cardiovascular surgeon on the cutting-edge of medical research.

Wilson School District

Wilson School District, which serves the communities of Spring, West Lawn, Sinking Spring, Lower Heidelberg, and Wyomissing, consists of eight elementary schools, two junior high schools, one senior high school, and is among the top-ranked school districts in Pennsylvania.

Wilson High School is consistently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of America’s “Best High Schools.” The Wilson High Marching Band has won many national championships. Notable alumni include an Olympic speed skater and an Olympic swimmer, a nationally known lawyer, professor and law school dean, and a retired General of the United States Army.

Wyomissing Area School District

The District operates two elementary schools and a junior/senior high school, which has been ranked in Newsweek’s top 1,200 public high schools in the U.S. annually since 2006, and consistently ranks among the Washington Post’s most challenging public schools in Pennsylvania.

U.S. News & World Report has ranked Wyomissing Area Junior/Senior High School as the best public school in the state, excluding magnet and charter schools. Notable alumni include a nationally known television show talent producer, a nationally known television host, and a Grammy Award-winning country-pop singer.

Higher Education

Berks County is also home to Penn State Berks (a commonwealth campus of Penn State University), Albright College, Alvernia University, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, and Reading Area Community College.
